Jeep Gladiator Mud Flaps — Protect the Door Hinges Before It's Too Late

Quick answers for Jeep Gladiator owners:

Do RokBlokz mud flaps fit the Jeep Gladiator? Yes — purpose-built for the 2020+ Jeep Gladiator JT. Fits all trim levels including Rubicon, Mojave, Willys, Overland, Sport, and Sport S.

Do these require drilling? No. Mounts entirely using factory OEM mounting locations. No drilling, no cutting, no welding required on most trim levels.

What makes RokBlokz different for the Gladiator? Tool-less quick-release system — remove all four flaps on the trail in under a minute with thumb screws. No other mud flap offers this on the Gladiator.

What size should I get? Four sizes available: Original, Original Long, XL, and XL Long. Stock tires up to 34" — Original or Original Long. Tires 35" to 40" or any lift with poke — XL or XL Long.

Are RokBlokz made in the USA? Yes — designed and manufactured in Utah since 2011.

The Mod Every Gladiator Owner Wishes They'd Done Sooner

Two different Gladiator owners. Two different states. Same regret.

"I wish I had not waited — it would have saved a dent and scratch from a rock."

"3,000 miles on my new Gladiator. Pretty bad chipping on the door hinges. Finally pulled the trigger on mud flaps."

The Jeep Gladiator is built for adventure. It's also built with exposed door hinges that collect every rock, every piece of gravel, and every chunk of mud that your tires kick up. By the time most owners realize what's happening, the damage is already done.

Mud flaps don't just keep your Gladiator clean. On the JT specifically, they protect the door hinges and fenders that take a direct hit from tire spray on every drive. They keep mud out of the door handles — something every Gladiator owner eventually discovers the hard way. And for owners who actually wheel their JT, RokBlokz adds something no other mud flap offers: tool-less quick release so you can pull all four flaps on the side of a trail in under a minute.

One owner who bought RokBlokz for his Gladiator after years of running them on other vehicles summed it up: "Man, the amount of dings and scratches I could have prevented had I installed these years ago."

This is the mod you do before the damage happens — not after.

Why the Gladiator Needs Mud Flaps More Than Most Trucks

Most trucks throw debris at the rocker panels and lower doors. The Gladiator does that — and throws it directly at exposed door hinges, door handles, and the rear fenders that sit wide open behind the rear tires.

It's not a design flaw. It's the nature of a body-on-frame, trail-capable truck with the Jeep DNA baked in. But it means unprotected Gladiators accumulate rock chips and scratches faster than owners expect — even on daily drivers that never leave pavement.

One owner living in the mountains on a dirt road described it: "My Jeep often looked like I had been off-road. Now I can open the doors without dealing with mud up to the door handles."

Another owner who drives logging roads daily: "Super happy with the mud flaps. Perform as expected minimizing road rash on the sides of my truck."

And for Gladiator owners who actually rock crawl — the debris problem is even more pronounced. Wider tires, more articulation, more opportunity for rocks and mud to find the body. The right mud flap needs to protect the truck without becoming a liability on the trail.

That last part is where most mud flaps fall short for Gladiator owners.

What Makes RokBlokz the Right Choice for the Gladiator

Tool-Less Quick Release — The Feature That Changes Everything

Every other mud flap on the market mounts to your Gladiator and stays there. If you're heading into technical terrain where a flap could catch on a rock and damage your fender, you either leave them on and hope, or you spend 20 minutes with tools on the side of the trail.

RokBlokz built a different system. Thumb screws — no tools required. All four flaps come off in under a minute. Put them back on just as fast when you're back on the road.

One owner put it simply: "Easy on and easy off. Perfect for keeping my Jeep looking good. Simple thumb screws to remove for the trail — no tools needed."

Another owner who bought a second set in a different size specifically to swap between seasons: "Super easy to switch when desired."

No other mud flap offers this on the Gladiator. For owners who actually wheel their JT, it's not a minor convenience — it's the reason to choose RokBlokz over everything else.

Built to Survive the Trail — Not Just the Road

The quick-release system would mean nothing if the flaps couldn't handle real off-road abuse. They can.

One Gladiator owner took his JT on a 6/10 rock crawling trail specifically to test them: "These things not only survived but look exactly the same as they did brand new. I fold these things over boulders and the shape is still perfectly straight."

Jeep Gladiator Rubicon in the desert

That's the proprietary polymer blend doing its job. Rigid enough to hold shape at speed and intercept tire spray. Flexible enough to bend over obstacles without snapping. Formulated to perform from desert heat to arctic cold without warping or cracking. It bends, gives, scrapes, and returns to shape.

As one owner put it: "You get what you pay for. Love that they are removable and they look great. I didn't want a cheap solid plastic flap."

CNC-Cut Precision — OEM Bolt-On Fit

Every RokBlokz mud flap is CNC laser-cut for precision at the mounting points. The hardware aligns with factory OEM hole locations — no drilling, no self-tapping screws, no modifications to your Gladiator on most trim levels. Stainless steel and rust-resistant hardware included. Heavy-duty powder-coated steel brackets for the rear that mount directly to the frame — not the fender.

One owner who'd been through multiple sets: "Zero modifications to the Jeep to make these fit. Cutouts for the rock rails were accurate."

Made in the USA Since 2011

Designed and manufactured in Utah. Over 15 years of fitment development. The Gladiator community cares about where their gear comes from — and RokBlokz has been made in America since day one.

As one owner wrote: "Thank you RokBlokz for being a strong American company with a strong product and an excellent staff."

Four Sizes — Here's How to Choose

This is the most important decision you'll make before ordering. RokBlokz is the only Gladiator mud flap with a four-size system — and getting the right size for your setup matters.

RokBlokz Jeep Gladiator Mud Flap size options

Original

The right choice for stock Gladiators running factory tires up to about 34 inches. Provides solid protection with a lower-profile look that doesn't change the visual stance of the truck. Stock Mojave and Willys owners with factory wheels consistently report this size works perfectly.

Original Long

Same width as Original, but adds approximately 2 inches on the bottom edge for additional spray coverage downward. The right call if you want maximum vertical coverage without adding width — great for stock or mildly modified trucks where the tires sit inside the fender line.

XL

About 1-2 inches wider and 1-2 inches longer than Original. Purpose-built for Gladiators running a lift or higher-offset wheels with tires that poke past the fender edge. Covers tires from approximately 35 to 40 inches. If you're on 35s or bigger with any meaningful poke, XL is your size.

XL Long

The maximum coverage option — XL width with an additional 2 inches on the bottom edge. Built for owners who want the most protection possible — off-road, harsh climates, or anyone who wants to be a good citizen to the vehicles behind them on the highway. One owner running 35" KO2s on AEV Pintlers with no lift went XL Long specifically for the extra door protection: "I like the extra length to keep crap from slinging up on the doors. The extra length in the rear is less for me and more of a courtesy for those behind me on the highway."

Quick size guide:

  • Stock tires, factory wheels → Original or Original Long

  • 35"+ tires or any wheel poke → XL or XL Long

  • Want maximum protection regardless of setup → XL Long

  • Not sure? Look at your front tire from directly in front of the truck — if it extends past the fender edge, go XL

One more option: You can mix sizes front and rear. Several owners run XL up front for maximum door hinge protection and Original in the rear where coverage needs differ. Front-only and rear-only sets are available if that's your preference.

Fitment Details — What to Know Before You Order

Rubicon with OEM Rock Rails

Website screenshot on how to select rubicon rail cutout on Jeep Gladiator mud flaps

The front flaps are designed with the OEM Rubicon rock rail shape partially cut out. When you receive your kit, simply cut the tabs and remove the pre-cut shape to allow the rock rails to pass through cleanly. If you don't have OEM Rubicon rock rails — or have aftermarket sliders — add a note at checkout: "NO PARTIALLY CUT HOLE PLEASE" and the flaps will arrive without the cutout.

Sport, Sport S, and Max Tow Fenders

Fits all Gladiator trim levels. On Sport and Max Tow fenders, a small lip on the fender liner needs to be trimmed for proper front flap mounting — a quick and straightforward modification. The rear flaps mount to the frame and are unaffected by fender differences.

2023+ Models

If your Gladiator has the third tab on the fender liner bracket, the front flap needs to sit behind the two outer tabs and in front of the third center tab. Detailed instructions are included — it's a simple positioning adjustment once you know what to look for.

Aftermarket Fenders

The front flaps require unmodified OEM fenders. They will not mount on aftermarket, modified, or split OEM fenders. The rear flaps mount to the frame and work regardless of fender setup.

Long Travel Suspension and Aftermarket Sway Bars

The rear bracket is designed for factory suspension. Some long travel setups and aftermarket sway bar kits can interfere with the rear mounting bracket — check clearance around the rear lower control arm mounts before ordering if you're running either of these modifications.

High Altitude Trim

This kit does not fit the High Altitude trim. If you're on High Altitude, contact RokBlokz directly before ordering.

Color Options

Black is the most popular — clean, aggressive, works on every Gladiator color. But RokBlokz offers over 10 colors: Black, Red, Yellow, Grey, Deep Blue, Bright Blue, Orange, Lime Green, Olive Drab, Tan, Pink, and Deep Purple. Logo color is a separate choice.

Mojave owners have been particularly vocal about the Orange logo option — it matches the Mojave orange accents exactly. One owner: "The orange logo on the black RB matches the orange trim on my Mojave." Another who bought a second set specifically to get orange logos: "I see orange is now an option and it does pop and match the Mojave orange great."

Note: Colors other than Black are custom/made to order and are not eligible for returns.

The Install — Honest Expectations

The front flaps are straightforward — most owners report 5-10 minutes per side. The rear flaps involve assembling the bracket system before mounting, which takes more time. Budget about an hour to 90 minutes for a complete set.

Watch the installation video before you start — it's worth 10 minutes of your time before you're in the driveway with parts spread out. The written PDF instructions are also worth downloading as a supplement, especially for the rear bracket assembly.

RokBlokz Jeep Gladiator Mud Flaps assembly

One tip from multiple owners: turn your front wheels outward before installing the front flaps — it opens up access to the mounting points considerably. For the rear, some owners find that jacking up the axle slightly makes the install easier, though it's not required.

The quick-release thumb screws are the last thing to tighten. Get everything positioned and aligned first, then snug them down. The slotted mounting holes let you push the flaps outward before final tightening — worth dialing in your preferred position before you lock everything in place.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Gladiator trims does this fit?

The 2020+ Gladiator JT mud flap kit fits all trim levels including Sport, Sport S, Overland, Rubicon, Mojave, and Willys. It does not fit the High Altitude trim or any Gladiator with aftermarket or modified OEM fenders. The Eco Diesel model is compatible with stock exhaust.

Do I need to drill any holes?

No. This is a fully no-drill install. All mounting uses factory OEM hole locations on the fender liner for the front and frame mounting points for the rear. Some Sport and Max Tow fender owners will need to trim a small lip on the fender liner — this is a minor trim, not drilling.

How does the quick-release system work?

The front and rear flaps mount using thumb screws that can be loosened and tightened by hand — no tools required. To remove all four flaps on the trail, loosen the thumb screws and slide the flaps out. Remounting takes the same amount of time. The rear flaps use a powder-coated steel bracket that stays on the truck permanently — only the flap itself detaches.

What's the difference between the four sizes?

Original is designed for stock setups with tires up to about 34 inches. Original Long is the same width with approximately 2 inches of additional length on the bottom edge. XL is 1-2 inches wider and longer than Original, built for 35-40 inch tires or any lift with wheel poke. XL Long combines XL width with the additional 2 inches of length for maximum coverage in all directions.

Will these work with my aftermarket rock sliders or side steps?

The front flaps are designed with the OEM Rubicon rock rail cutout pre-marked. For OEM Rubicon rock rails, cut the tabs and remove the pre-cut shape. For most aftermarket rock sliders that don't extend as far forward as the OEM Rubicon sliders, no modification is needed. If you have MOPAR Performance Rails or other sliders that extend further forward, you may need to extend the pre-designed hole or cut your own. For no cutout at all, note "NO PARTIALLY CUT HOLE PLEASE" at checkout.

Will these fit if I have a long travel suspension or aftermarket sway bar?

Possibly not. The rear bracket is designed for factory suspension components. Some long travel suspension kits and aftermarket sway bar setups can interfere with the rear mounting bracket. Check clearance around the rear lower control arm mounts before ordering.

Can I buy front only or rear only?

Yes. Front-only and rear-only sets are available separately if you want to protect specific areas or mix sizes front to rear.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. Gladiator owners in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand have purchased and reviewed these. International taxes and duties are the responsibility of the buyer and can be paid at checkout.

The Bottom Line

The Jeep Gladiator is built to go anywhere. The mud flaps should keep up.
