Jeep Wrangler Mud Flaps

Jeep Wrangler Mud Flaps — The Best Upgrade for JL and JK Owners

Quick answers for Jeep Wrangler owners:

Do RokBlokz mud flaps fit the Jeep Wrangler? Yes — purpose-built for both the 2018+ JL/JLU and the 2007–2018 JK/JKU. Both 2-door and 4-door. Fits Sport, Sahara, Willys, Rubicon, 392 Rubicon, 4Xe, and more.

Do these require drilling? No. Front flaps mount using OEM fender locations. Rear flaps mount to the frame. Minor rear fender liner modification required — no drilling, no welding.

What makes RokBlokz different for the Jeep Wrangler? Tool-less quick-release system — remove all four flaps on the trail in seconds using thumb screws. No other mud flap offers this on the Jeep Wrangler.

What size should I get? JL: Original for stock tires up to 34", XL for 35–40". JK: Original for stock tires up to 33", XL for 35–40".

Are RokBlokz made in the USA? Yes — designed and manufactured in Utah since 2011.

The One Mod Every Wrangler Owner Ends Up Buying Twice

One RokBlokz customer has purchased nine sets. Nine! Across multiple Jeep Wranglers, a Ram 1500, a Jeep Gladiator, a Hyundai Tucson, and a Mustang GT convertible. His review is four sentences: "Only the best will be installed on my vehicles. RokBlokz is my Go To to protect my rides."

That kind of loyalty doesn't come from marketing. It comes from a product that does exactly what it says, every time, on every vehicle.

The Jeep Wrangler is built to go anywhere. It's also built with exposed door hinges, wide fender flares, and a stance that throws tire spray directly at the body on every drive. Rock chips on the door hinges. Mud in the door handles. Gravel pitting the rear fenders. It happens to every Wrangler that sees real roads — and it happens faster than most owners expect.

Jeep Wrangler JL Rubicon Rock Crawling

One owner who drives dirt roads all day for work: "I can honestly say they are doing their job and keeping rocks and other small debris from being kicked up and hitting my doors."

Another who tested his immediately after install: "40 minutes on slushy, snowy, wet, rocky roads — not a drop on the side of my Jeep when I got home."

And when the trail gets technical, they come off in seconds without tools.

This is the mod you install once and order again for every Wrangler you own after it.

Why the Jeep Wrangler Needs Mud Flaps More Than Most Vehicles

The Wrangler's wide fender flares look aggressive and handle side impacts — but they don't stop what the tires throw upward and inward. On every drive, your front tires are launching debris directly at the door hinges, door handles, and lower body panels. Your rear tires are doing the same to the rear fenders and anything you're towing.

The door hinges are the first casualty. They're exposed by design on every Jeep — and rock chips show up within the first few thousand miles on any Wrangler that sees gravel or unpaved roads. One owner put it plainly: "After aftermarket wheels gave my Jeep a great stance, we all know what happens to our hinges and rear fenders."

Muddy Jeep Wrangler

The rear fenders are next. JLU Rubicon owners in particular see significant rear fender wear from gravel thrown by the rear tires — especially when towing. One owner who tows a boat: "All the gravel between us and our mud and trails takes a huge toll on the rear fenders. These flaps have really helped mitigate a lot of dings and scratches."

The door handles collect everything. Mud at 8 mph turns into a projectile aimed directly at the door handles and side windows on an unprotected Wrangler. One Mojave owner: "Even at 8 mph mud would fly up on my door handles and side windows."

Mud flaps solve all three. But on a Wrangler that actually gets wheeled, the mud flap needs to get out of the way when the trail demands it. That's the problem most mud flaps don't solve.

What Makes RokBlokz the Right Choice for the Jeep Wrangler

RokBlokz Jeep Wrangler Quick-Release Mud Flaps

Tool-Less Quick Release — Off in Seconds, On in Seconds

The Wrangler community is vocal about one thing: mud flaps that can't be removed quickly are a liability on technical terrain. A flap that catches on a rock can pull a fender liner or damage a mounting point. Most mud flaps give you no good option — leave them on and hope, or spend time with tools on the trail.

RokBlokz built a different system. Thumb screws on every flap — no tools required. Remove all four in under a minute. Remount just as fast when you're back on the road.

One Rubicon owner: "Takes me less than a minute to take them off when I need to."

Another: "Love them — how fast on and off."

And one owner who specifically noted a use case nobody else mentions: "Particularly removing the mud flaps when off-roading, more so when backing up to any object." That's serious trail experience talking.

Material Built for Real Off-Road Use

The proprietary poly-blend is the reason owners come back for their second, third, and ninth set. Rigid enough to hold shape at speed and intercept tire spray without folding back against the body. Flexible enough to bend over obstacles on the trail without snapping. Formulated to survive extreme heat and extreme cold without warping or cracking.

Jeep Wrangler JK Mud Flaps and Parts

One owner after 20,000 miles: "I have over 20k miles on them and not just a pavement princess. I would recommend these 100%."

Another put the flexibility point in context: "I like that they are sturdy but still have a little flexibility in case I hit a stump or something. The hard mud flaps from other brands are too rigid and can cause fender damage."

And one JK owner after two full Colorado winters on snow and gravel: came back to buy XL after the Original size performed flawlessly for two seasons. That's the product earning a repeat purchase through results, not marketing.

CNC-Cut Precision — OEM Mounting, No Drilling

Every flap is CNC laser-cut for precision at the mounting points. Front flaps mount to OEM fender liner locations on the JL and to the frame on the JK. Rear flaps on both generations mount to a heavy-duty powder-coated steel bracket that bolts directly to the frame — unaffected by aftermarket bumpers or fender modifications. Stainless steel and rust-resistant hardware throughout.

One owner who's done three Jeep builds with RokBlokz: "They look good and do their job. Easy install with great directions."

Made in the USA Since 2011

Designed and manufactured in Utah. Over 15 years of fitment development across more than 50 vehicle platforms. One owner specifically noted: "Made here in Utah, which is awesome because I like to support local jobs whenever possible."

The Wrangler community researches and buys with intention. Made in USA matters — and RokBlokz has delivered it since day one.

Jeep Wrangler JL Mud Flaps (2018+) — Fitment and Size Details

Jeep Wrangler JL Mud Flaps

Fits: 2018+ Jeep Wrangler JL and JLU, both 2-door and 4-door. Sport, Sahara, Willys, Rubicon, 392 Rubicon, 4Xe, Xtreme Recon Package, and Eco Diesel with stock exhaust. Does not fit the High Altitude trim.

Two Sizes for the JL

Original — Stock tires up to approximately 34 inches. Right for JLs close to stock ride height with tires that don't extend past the fender flare edge. Solid protection with a clean profile.

XL — Built for 35–40 inch tires or any lift with wheel poke past the fender edge. About 1–2 inches wider and longer than Original. Multiple Xtreme Recon owners confirmed XL aligns perfectly with the factory fender flare extensions. When in doubt between sizes on the JL, go with the XL.

JL Rubicon Rock Rail Fitment

The front flaps include a pre-cut shape for the OEM Rubicon rock rail. Cut the tabs and remove the shape before install. For non-Rubicon trims or aftermarket sliders that don't extend as far forward as OEM Rubicon rails — no modification needed. For Mopar Performance Rails, extend the pre-cut hole slightly. For no cutout at all, note "NO PARTIALLY CUT HOLE PLEASE" at checkout.

JL Full Kit or Half Kit?

Full Kit — Starting at $224.99: Four flaps, front and rear, all hardware and brackets. The right choice for most JL owners.

Half Kit — Starting at $84.99: Front only or rear only. One owner who started with fronts: "That was a mistake. I ended up ordering the rear too. Should have just got both from the start." But the half kit is there if you want it.

Jeep Wrangler JK Mud Flaps (2007–2018) — Fitment and Size Details

Jeep Wrangler JK Mud Flaps

Fits: 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK and JKU, both 2-door and 4-door. Sport, Sport S, Overland, Sahara, Moab, Willys, Freedom Edition, and Rubicon. The Rubicon Hard Rock Edition requires some modifications to the mounting process. Does not fit the 2018+ JL generation.

Two Sizes for the Wrangler JK

Original — Stock tires up to approximately 33 inches. Right for JKs running a stock or mildly modified setup.

XL — Built for 35–40 inch tires. One JK owner running 36" tires confirmed XL fits perfectly. Another ran Original through two Colorado winters on snow and gravel roads, then upgraded to XL for greater coverage — the XL snapped right into the existing brackets without replacing hardware.

JK Rock Rails and Side Steps

Works with most side steps and rock rails. The Sahara OEM side step is confirmed. OEM Hard Rock Rails require some trimming of the flaps and spacers between the bracket and mount surface. For questions about specific rock rails, contact RokBlokz before ordering.

Wrangler JK Full Kit

Full Kit — $239.99: Four flaps, front and rear, all hardware and brackets. Front only and rear only half kits are also available — note that ordering front and rear together as a full kit includes a discount over buying them separately.

Color Options

Black is the most popular and works on every Wrangler color. Multiple colors available: Black, Red, Yellow, Grey, Deep Blue, Bright Blue, Orange, Lime Green, Olive Drab, Pink, and Deep Purple. Logo color is a separate choice. You can order a color sample HERE.

RokBlokz Mud Flap Color Sample

Mojave owners consistently go with Orange logos to match the Mojave accent color. One owner ordered a set for herself and then immediately ordered another set for her granddaughter's Wrangler — both with orange logos. Rubicon owners running red or grey accents frequently match the logo color to their trim.

The Dubai owner who ordered XL flaps to the UAE put it simply: "Is there mud there? No. Is there rain there? No. Did I find it necessary to install these? Absolutely." Sometimes it's just about the look.

Note: Colors other than Black are custom/made to order and are not eligible for returns.

The Install — What to Actually Expect

Wrangler JL front flaps: Mount to existing OEM fender liner locations using included thumb screws. Most owners report 10–15 minutes per side. Turn the front wheels outward before starting — it opens up access considerably.

Wrangler JL rear flaps: Require removing the lower section of the rear fender liner to access the frame mounting points. The bracket bolts to the frame and stays permanently — only the flap detaches. The liner can be reinstalled after modification. A full reinstallation guide is on the RokBlokz blog. Budget an hour to 90 minutes for a complete four-flap Wrangler JL install.

Wrangler JK front and rear flaps: Mount using frame-mounted powder-coated steel brackets on both front and rear. Minor rear wheel well liner modification required. Same thumb screw quick-release on all four corners.

For both generations: watch the YouTube installation video before you start. It's the difference between a smooth install and a frustrating one. The written PDF instructions are worth downloading as a supplement, especially for the rear bracket assembly. Watch Wrangler JK installation video. Watch Wrangler JL installation video.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Jeep Wrangler generations does RokBlokz make mud flaps for?

Both the current JL generation (2018+) and the previous JK generation (2007–2018). Both 2-door and 4-door on each. The JL and JK use separate kits — they are not interchangeable.

Do I need to drill any holes?

No drilling required on either generation. Front and rear flaps mount using OEM hardware locations and frame mounting points. The rear fender liner on both generations requires minor modification — removal and trimming — to allow the bracket to mount cleanly.

How does the quick-release system work?

All four flaps — front and rear — attach with thumb screws that loosen and tighten by hand. No tools required. The rear bracket stays mounted to the frame permanently. Only the flap itself detaches. Several owners specifically mention using this feature before technical trail sections and when backing up near obstacles.

What size should I order?

For the JL: Original for stock tires up to approximately 34 inches. XL for 35–40 inch tires or any wheel poke past the fender edge. When in doubt, go XL.

For the JK: Original for stock tires up to approximately 33 inches. XL for 35–40 inch tires.

Both generations allow you to mix sizes front and rear by ordering front and rear separately.

Will these work with my aftermarket rock sliders or bumper?

On the Wrangler JL, front flaps require OEM fenders. The Rubicon rock rail cutout is pre-marked — cut tabs and remove for OEM Rubicon rails. Most aftermarket sliders don't extend as far forward and don't interfere. Rear flaps on both JL and JK mount to the frame and are completely unaffected by bumper or fender choice.

On the Wrangler JK, front brackets also mount to the frame, allowing broader fitment. Most rock rails and side steps work — the OEM Sahara side step is confirmed. Hard Rock Edition rails require some trimming.

Can I buy front only or rear only?

Yes on both generations. Half kits are available with all applicable hardware and brackets. On the Wrangler JL, the full kit starts at $224.99 and the half kits start at $84.99. On the Wrangler JK, ordering front and rear together includes a discount over buying them separately — the full kit is $239.99.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. Jeep Wrangler owners in Canada, Israel, UAE, Germany, Australia, and more have purchased and reviewed these. International taxes and duties are the responsibility of the buyer. Canadian buyers should be aware of import fees charged separately by the carrier.

Does this kit fit the Jeep Gladiator?

No. The Jeep Gladiator JT uses a separate purpose-built kit. See the Gladiator fitment section below.

The Bottom Line

The Jeep Wrangler is meant to be driven hard. The door hinges, rear fenders, and paint will tell the story of every mile without protection — and once the chips and dings start, they don't stop.
